Twitter Newbie? How I Got 1000 Followers in Two Weeks!
January 27, 2009
Three weeks ago, I had only seen the word Twitter on Facebook profiles. To say I’ve been “out of the internet” loop for the last three years was an understatement. Since I’m working on a new start-up biz that will have some of its foundation on the Internet, I decided it was time to dive into social media with both feet. I did not want to be a passive learner. And I found that Twitter was one of the best places for people who have a quest for knowledge. Read more
Mirror, Mirror, On the Wall
January 27, 2009

I’ve always hated mirrors. I’m not totally certain why that is, but I know that I hated having my flaws staring me in the face. Perhaps not looking in a mirror was my way of trying to maintain a positive attitude.
I’ll never forget the time my oldest was twelve and looking in a mirror. She kept making comments about all the flaws on her face. As she spent more time staring in the mirror, I noticed her countenance change as she continued telling herself all the things wrong with her. Read more
Taking Care of You! – Itty Bitty Pity Party
January 27, 2009
Have you ever felt like you just needed a little time to feel depressed? Like somehow if you could allow yourself that time, you would be able to get over it? The only problem is we don’t normally have a plan to get out of it. So, we end up staying in what I call, “the bad place” for too long. Read more
New Year’s Enhancements!
January 27, 2009
Most diets begin on a Monday. Most end on Thursday. Resolutions begin Jan 1, the list is often stumbled on months later, then tossed in the trash. The feeling of failure will often envelope the person when they discover “the list.” People quit smoking when the pack is empty, but the pack is never empty because there is another one to take it’s place. Choose Your Life in 2009!
January 27, 2009
I am a firm believer that we choose the kind of life we want to have. Some people call it a secret, but perhaps that is because most people “let life choose them” instead of choosing the life they want. The secret is that most people simply don’t believe they have any control over their lives.
It’s not a secret to me, it’s focus. The things we focus on, are the things we have. If I focus on Joy – I have joy in any circumstance. If I focus on Health – I will have health in all circumstance. Read more

The Man Upstairs
January 27, 2009
I was listening to a radio broadcast today which was raising money for Cook’s Children’s Hospital. They were interviewing a mom who was going through a difficult ordeal with her child. My heart went out to her in a powerful way. My comments are not in any way to be construed negatively toward her. I think she was surprised by a microphone in her face asking questions. She made this comment, “The man upstairs doesn’t give us more than we can take or put more on our plate.” Read more
No Government Bailout for Me!
January 27, 2009
I read this quote “Remember that a government big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take away everything you have.” Barry Goldwater as a post from @grandnewparty on Twitter. It really got me thinking about this.
I’ve always been conservative and anti-big-government, but I must admit there have been times that I’ve thought and even said outloud, “I want a bailout for me!” or “Real Estate agents should get a piece of the bailout pie” or even worse, “Show me the money, Honey – er umm…I mean (almost)* President Elect Obama!” Read more
