Answer
People often want to know how I went from having a self-published book to having a published book. These are the steps I took:
- Sibling surprised me with a self-published book from articles I had written for a homeschool newsletter.
- Got myself a speaking gig at a homeschool conference
- Spent a lot of time in the chat room at crosswalk.com
- Talked about book publishing with an anonymous author who gave me the phone number of a publisher
- Called the publisher – sent him my self-published book and another book I was working on
- Eight days later the publisher called me back and said, “We HAVE to publish your book.”
And that…is how it’s done.
